General Information
Ancient Grain is an Australian business based in Melbourne, Victoria. We specialise in the preparation and distribution of dehydrated sourdough starter cultures for home baking use.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. The version published at the time of your order will apply.
Products
All sourdough starters sold by Ancient Grain are living cultures that have been carefully dehydrated for preservation and shipping.
While we take great care in preparing and testing each culture, results may vary depending on environmental conditions, flour type, water quality, and baking technique.
We do not guarantee identical baking outcomes for every user, as sourdough is a natural fermentation process influenced by many variables outside of our control.
Orders
Once an order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation. Orders are processed as quickly as possible, however processing times may vary depending on demand.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or misuse of our service.

Once your order has been dispatched, we are not responsible for delays caused by postal carriers or customs clearance processes.
Returns & Refunds
Due to the nature of our product (live microbial cultures in dehydrated form), we generally do not accept returns for change of mind.
However, we do offer support if your starter does not activate as expected.
If you follow the activation instructions provided and your dehydrated starter does not successfully activate within 7 days, we will provide a replacement batch in accordance with our Activation Guarantee.

Starter Activation & Results
Each order includes instructions for rehydrating and activating your sourdough starter.
Successful activation depends on following the provided instructions, as well as environmental conditions such as temperature, flour type, and feeding schedule.
Ancient Grain is not responsible for failed activation due to incorrect handling or deviation from instructions.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ancient Grain will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products.
Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount paid for the product in question.
Health Disclaimer
Our sourdough starters are used for food preparation and baking purposes only.
While sourdough may be easier to digest for some individuals, we make no medical or health claims regarding our products.
If you have allergies or dietary concerns, please review ingredients and handling instructions before use.
